Tom Felton, known for his portrayal of young Draco Malfoy in the Harry Potter films, is set to return to the role as an adult on Broadway in 'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child'.

The play takes place 19 years after the events of the books and movies, with the next generation of characters, including the children of Draco, Harry, Ron, and Hermione, now students at Hogwarts.

Felton made the announcement during an appearance on the Today Show. He will be the first cast member from the film series to join the stage production, which originally opened in London in 2016 and later on Broadway in 2018.

Felton is scheduled to join the Broadway cast in November for a 19-week run.

"We start 19 years later," Felton told Today.com. "Now we’re no longer children; we are the parents. So, even though I’m reprising an old role, it feels like new, uncharted territory. I know him well as a kid, but I don’t know him as an adult."

Felton added, "It’s very, very easy to get emotional. When they put my blond wig on for the theater production, I just immediately cried. It was like a blast from the past."
